chosen writers, partners and developers are hosted by Nokia every year in which they boast all of their present products and explain where the company is heading. Nokia is usually very conservative about these proceedings. Nokia is undisputed outside Japan, US, and Korea. It rarely admits the want to improve everything or changing its tactics. This time is different. each presentation heard and executives talked to admit that the company needs some changes at least in some areas.
simplicity of use was the issue that everybody brought up particularly in terms of the S60. On the other hand, the series 40 or the operating system that the majority of the Nokia phones run on has improved considerably. The S60 which is the smart phone's operating system has lagged behind. The S60's next version which will include the feel sensitivity feature but it won't need it. It will be Nokia's very first try in re-focusing on such hard work. The company is still dedicated on improving their every operating platform and hardware including the issue on the simplicity of use.
Nokia also expands means in making its hardware to be more environmentally friendly.
Even though circuit boards and chips are hard to improve, the enhancement in plastics together with their packaging as well as the chargers made by Nokia are expected to decrease the environmental impact.
Nokia Luxury, Extravagant Models, Versions
The Nokia 880 Arte has been the closest that the company has to come up to in their quest in matching the extravagance of the Vertu line. Its Sapphire model has features that sell for more than 1100 Euros that include real leather and an elegant gem stone choice key. The Arte, not like the Vertu line, has high end features and regarded as one of the designs that are easiest to use.
The similar OLED monitor is located on the 7900 Prism but it lacks many of the 8800's other high end features. Its keypad is surprisingly simple to use though its keys are triangularly shaped.
News: International Trade Commission (ITC) rules in favor of Nokia
December 12, 2007
- No copyright infringement found
White Plains - NY, USA
Nokia announced that a judge of the ITC or International Trade Commission issued an Initial Determination in Nokia's favor for the action brought by the company Qualcomm against them alleging a copyright infringement. No violation or infringement was found by the judge concerning the three Qualcomm patents asserted. also, the copyright?473 was determined and found to be invalid.
This decision verifies that there are no significant GSM copyrights of Qualcomm existing. Qualcomm's failed try just misled both the telecommunications industry and obviously, Nokia.
On June 9, 2006, Qualcomm filed a complaint against Nokia concerning, regarding the later company's infringement of six patents of Qualcomm. Later on Qualcomm withdrew voluntarily three copyrights out of the six copyrights from its complaint. The three remaining copyrights relate to an innovation that Qualcomm claims to be made by them when they are improving the CDMA technology.
Similar copyrights of CDMA related inventions are still at question in the China and European cases against Nokia filed by Qualcomm.
