Autism Diet Gluten Free
Jean Genet
Usually when we hear the phrase "Leading Edge" it's normally associated with universities like Harvard, Standford or Princeton when it comes to medicine. This is not this case when it comes to Autism. People who are really on the "Leading Edge" addressing the problems that are associated with Autism are parents of Autistic children.
Since the medical community believes that Autism is a mental disorder that can only be managed, these parents have been forced to do their own intervention. These "Leading Edge" parents have discovered that for the most part, the inability to form speech, lack of mental focus and emotional balance is brought on by a chemical imbalance that literally upsets every process function.
One parent's, Kitsa Arnet, son suffered with non ending, severe tantrums and sleeplessness. She had a test done on her son to show mineral levels. Magnesium levels were very low and a soon as the magnesium levels were address the tantrums and sleepless nights we gone.
Melinda Allison's son was chewing the ends of his fingers off. Was this severe response due to the medical assumption that anyone who would do this has a mental disorder? No, Melinda found out that her son had low levels of zinc and under proper care brought those levels back into balance. What was the result? Her son quit chewing the ends of his fingers.
Shirley Anderson was having the same problem as Kitsa Arnet's son with sleeplessness and tantrums. She found her solution in going to the vitamin store and picking up some melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone found in humans. The use of melatonin as a drug can have beneficial effects for treatment of certain insomnias.
More and more parents, these days, have taken their Autistic child's welfare into their own hands. One of the first steps of treatments that's seems to be helping Autistic children is a chemical work up. When deficiencies are discovered and levels are brought into balance, the child's daily life improves tremendously.
