Magic tricks inspire wonder and awe in the minds of spectators. That is why I perform magic. Every time I show a new group of people a magic routine, I get a different reaction.
Practically everyone is affected in some profound way. Why shouldn't they? they have just witnessed the impossible. Creating such a moment for someone is for me, a joy.
I want to share this feeling with you, so I am going to teach you how to perform your very own magic trick.
All I ask in return is that you adhere to the magicians code. The rules you MUST adhere to are as follows:
1. You MUST NOT, EVER tell ANYONE the method of a magic trick, no matter how many times they ask. This is the most important rule of all.
2. Do NOT perform a trick twice for the same audience. Believe me, they will ask. The second time they will be looking for the method.
3. Practice your trick to perfection in a mirror before showing it to anybody. Or else you will give away the method and it won't have the amazing effect.
4. Enjoy it! watch peoples faces when they witness a miracle. You will make their YEAR!
The Nervous Card
The Effect:
You hand half of the deck of cards to a spectator and you each select a card from your own half and cut it into your own pile. Each of you have now lost your card in your deck. With a clap of your hands your card jumps to the spectators pile and joins their card!
As they spread through their pile sure enough your card is right next to theirs! It literally travelled through the air and landed in their deck!
The Method:
Shuffle the deck and glance the bottom card as you do so. I recommend the riffle shuffle as it's easy to peek the bottom card as you lift the two packets up.
Riffle down the deck with your thumb, asking the spectator to say stop at any point. As they do, hand them the bottom half of the deck, seperated from the top half where your thumb stopped.
Ask the spectator to spread through their cards and select one. Ask them to memorize it and place it on top of their pile. Do this yourself, pretending to memorize the card you select. (You don't have to remember yours)
Cut your half of the deck, losing the card into the middle. Ask the spectator to do the same with their cards, so their card which they placed on top is now hopelessly lost inside.
Tell them that your card is nervous and when scared it will jump from your packet to theirs, joining their card.
Clap your hands and then tell them what your card was (Name the card that was on the bottom of the deck at the start of the trick, which you glanced)
Ask them to spread through their cards and locate the card. It will be the card above their chosen card, which you didn't even see!
