4) As you do this remove your other hand that actually holds the coin.
All the attention of your audience is focused on the hand that caught the coin and of course when you open it, the coin is gone.

In fact, just with this basic 'slight of hand' technique you can come up with lots of your own magic tricks. Obviously the smaller the object, the easier it is disguise what you are doing.
