The common misconception by people is that DSS tenants are non working people who are not willing to try to get on and get a job. Of course there are people who have this attitude in life, but it is becoming much harder for people to stay non working with the new legislation that has come in trying to get people back to work. There are lots of different people who are in receipt of DSS payments which include single mothers, disable people, people caring for relatives and many more besides. Just like the DSS tenants the employed tenants can and are just as likely to give problems, there are complications which can arise such as change in circumstances and there are no guarantees that they are going to be clean living model employees.
