There are many things you can do to take care of your hair. But most people pay attention to what they do with their hair, but neglect the foods that they consume. Hair experts recommend that to have healthy hair growth, a well balanced diet is necessary. The nutrients and iron that comes with the diet can make a lot of difference. Here are some foods that will help promote hair growth.
1) Salmon fish.
Hair needs protein so that it can continue to grow. When there is a lack of protein, the strands tend to grow slower. Therefore, a rich protein diet is necessary to help stimulate growth. Salmon is a rich source of protein and it has lots of omega-3 fatty acids. It is also very rich with vitamin B-12 and iron, and both substances help the individual to develop a healthy scalp. A healthy scalp sets the stage for quick growing hair.
2) Green leafy vegetables.
Green leafy vegetables (especially dark green vegetables) contain lots of vitamin A and C. These vitamins help to improve the immune system of the body. Having a healthy body is essential for hair to grow quickly. The vegetables also help to secret oily substances, which forms a thin film of protection for the hair. Never over wash the hair as this may remove the protective oils. Hair that is too dry tend to become brittle and breaks easily.
3) Don't underestimate the tiny beans.
Everybody knows that beans provide a rich source of protein. So don't underestimate these tiny little beans. They can be boiled, baked, or cooked in soup. They also contain lots of calcium , iron and more importantly, biotin. Biotin helps to prevent hair from becoming too brittle.
4) Nuts for healthy hair.
If you are going nuts over healthy hair, be sure to consume plenty of nuts. Nuts contain an important nutrient, known as selenium. Selenium is responsible for developing a healthy scalp. There are many different types of nuts that you may consider consuming. They include walnuts, cashew nuts, pecans and almond - all of which are easily available in major supermarkets.
5) Eat poultry for more protein.
It's all about getting more protein so that the hair gets all the protein it needs. Besides beans, poultry offers another rich source of proteins. But be careful about the cooking method. Meat should be taken to improve your health. Therefore, be careful about cooking methods. Avoid taking oily meat that is deep friend (such as friend chicken wings) or barbecued. Try to take poultry meat that is baked or steamed. Such cooking methods produce dishes with lower calories. That means your body can absorb a higher amount of protein without all the extra cholesterol.
6) Eggs can help.
If you are in a hurry, you may wish to prepare simple dishes created from easy to cook ingredients such as eggs. Eggs not only contain loads of protein, they also contain biotin and vitamin B-12. It doesn't matter how the eggs are cooked. For sure, they will help with the hair growth.
