Frogger game was written in 1981. It was first named "Highway Crossing Frog". Not too catchy if you ask me. It was no surprise that it was later renamed. Konami Games created the game while Sega sold it via multiple sales channels. The simplicity and theme made for a highly successful game. Many consider the game a classic. Today, the game is still popular and can be found online all over the internet. In 1991, Frogger was remade with improvements and called Ribbit. Improvements include graphics, new levels, and two-player action.
PLAYING THE GAME
Three frog lives are provide. The key to the game is to deliver all the frogs to their homes. However, the frogs must avoid getting hit by motor vehicles while crossing the road. The motor vehicles include buses, vans, and taxis. There are five homes that the frogs must get to before time expires. There are also different hazards around while the frog tries to cross the river. There are many ways to die in this game such as getting run over by cars, getting in the way of snakes and alligators, drowning in the water, passing the dock, and jumping on a dog.

Frogger has appeared many times in television and music. It has appeared in Seinfeld, MTV, and Robot Chicken. In 1982, a song called Froggy's Lament was written by Buckner & Garcia. The song contains background beat from the game.
