Many people suffering from acne stay under some serious misconceptions and actually do more harm to them. Acne is not induced by sports participation. While the truth is that skin occlusion, pressure, frictional rubbing and heat induces acne mechanica, one of the forms of acne. Sportspersons who uses accessories such as shoulder pads; headbands and helmets are likely to have acne. They should avoid tight clothing and accessories and not share their accessories with anyone.
Chocolates and fatty food products affect acne. These do not affect acne but some may experience a flare-up due to allergic reaction. If you experienced any allergic reaction to chocolate or other fatty food, the best remedy would be stop eating it. Maintain a balanced and healthy diet rich in essential nutrients.
A common misconception is that acne affects only teenagers. This is not true, but teenagers are more prone because they are in a stage of their lives where there are a lot of hormonal changes in their developing body. They are not alone in their fight against acne; adults and babies can have acne too. Do not neglect acne; if you are an adult, acne might hit you hard.
Another misconception is that over washing your face can reduce acne. The truth is that dirt and surface oil are not sole reasons for acne. Over washing your face may result in over dried skin and acne flare-ups. However, washing with chemicals-free soap helps to some extent.
Masturbation and sex life can affect acne. While the fact is any sexual activity such as sex and/or masturbation has simply no effect on origin, extent or development of acne.
Once acne is cleared stop medications. It is not you but your dermatologist, who can guide you on medication usage and continuation. Continue using your acne medication until you've been directed by your dermatologist not to use it.
Stress manifests as acne. The truth is that stress alone is not the only factor that contributes to acne growth. It can be a result of medication used for controlling stress and other environment variables that are not immediately obvious. See that no stress crops in your day-today life. Lead an acne-free happy life by enjoying life to the fullest extent possible.
