Good New Orleans Restaurants
David H. Urmann
As one of the best-preserved neighborhoods in the United States of America, the French Quarter has a lasting French influence making visitors feel as if they are not in America.
The Royal Sonesta is a luxury boutique hotel on the world famous Bourbon Street. This beautiful hotel reflects a blend of European flair and Southern charm. It possesses an atmosphere that is quiet and graciously elegant which remains unsurpassed by other establishments in the Vieux Carre.
The outside of the hotel was designed to look like typical 1830's New Orleans row houses, which is a unique architectural style in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The Royal Sonesta and its staff feel its duty is to dedicate itself into preserving the rich heritage of the historic French Quarter neighborhood in which it is located. Rich furnishings, crystal doorknobs, gabled windows and wrought iron lace balconies which give you a view of historic Bourbon Street are found in every room.
A tropical courtyard with a lobby made of marble and a swimming pool at the second floor is enclosed by the hotel. The guest stays in rooms which offer magnificent views of the beautifully manicured lawns and private patios. The balcony in every room gives guests a peek at the daily activities of French Quarter people.
Guests can choose from the different in-house restaurants with locally renowned chefs. Begue's Restaurant offers extraordinary French and Creole specialties while the Desire Oyster Bar offer fresh Louisiana seafood and Creole delicacies. The Daiquiri Delight shop offers exotic concoctions in a room with a casual and bright atmosphere which brings to mind the old 50's style diners.
The JW Marriott New Orleans is a highly acclaimed New Orleans luxury hotel located along the world renowned and historic Canal Street. The JW Marriott hotel is right at the heart of the central business district and is seconds away from legendary entertainment and renowned attractions, like the Aquarium of the Americas, the famed French Quarter, and the modern Convention Center.
Guests can experience unsurpassed accommodations, snappy service, and an abundance of lavish amenities found only on the best of the best in hotel accommodations. A computer with Internet access and a printer is available for business purposes. Breakfast made up of scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruits and brewed coffee is delivered every morning along with the daily newspaper.
The JW Marriot features an exquisite Grand Ballroom illuminated with a lot of crystal chandeliers and French doors, perfect for nightly dancing. A 24-hour fitness center is also available for guests who are health conscious. The JW Marriot has several pools and hot tubs available for guests who plan to take a relaxing dip. Dining at the JW Marriott includes steaks at the Shula's Steak House. The Palace Caf? across the street, housed in the historic Werlein's music store building is a local favorite for so many delicious reasons.
Tourists flock heavily to New Orleans during Mardi Gras, New Orleans' premiere party season! Tourist and locals enjoy life, join parties, and generally have a good time. The Mardi Gras parade goes through the main streets of New Orleans. Bourbon Street is lined with many hotels and inns with 2nd floor balconies giving guests a view of the ongoing parade below. The hotels on Bourbon Street are located in New Orleans? party central with many pubs and nightclubs. It may be noisy during the night, so tourists who want to sleep at night usually go into hotels located further from Bourbon Street.
