Good Fire Red Team
Rokai Kolam
Homeowners with a fireplace in their home often use wood in building fire. Heating with wood is a great alternative to other home heating methods and creates a unique ambience in the room which can be enjoyed by all members of the family especially on a cold night. Outdoors, it can produce bonfires for heating as well as cooking purposes.
Various types of firewood are available and it would be to your advantage if you learn about their qualities. Some wood produce the most heat with less smoke while some are easy to handle than the others.
Pine is often used as kindling. Kindling refers to small pieces of wood used in starting a fire. Pine ignites easily and burns hotter.
For wood burning, hard woods are best. These include ash, birch, beech, hickory, hard maple and oak. Hard firewood usually burns longer, produces high heat without the smoke and can easily be split.
Other types of wood ideal for home use are the black cherry, yellow pine and soft maple. Unfortunately, these are harder to split and produce much smoke. Additional common woods that produce good results are the basswood, poplar, white pine, elm tree and the sweet gum tree.
Keeping your firewood dry is always important. Stack your firewood by placing them on shipping pallets to allow air to circulate between them and to prevent them from rotting. Avoid stacking wood against a wall or directly on the ground.
Place the biggest logs on the bottom and stack your firewood not higher than six feet. This will ensure easy access to the top logs.
Cover your entire firewood with a big canvas or plastic tarp to keep them dry until they're ready to be used. Use a waterproof and breathable material to keep the moisture away. Professionals recommend covering only the top few layers of your wood for proper ventilation. However, during the fall and winter seasons, your stacked wood should be fully covered to keep them dry. As for your kindling, store them in paper shopping bags.
The easiest and fastest way to obtain firewood is to order them from wood brokers and wood delivery services. Wood is normally brought by wood cutters to the urban centers from the rural areas and then the firewood is sold to brokers.
Vermont Good Wood is a leading provider of quality firewood in the Fairfield, Cincinnati, Westchester NY Counties and selected Manhattan areas. The company supplies only kiln dried select Vermont hardwoods with the perfect dryness, 25 percent more energy output and woods that light easily but burns longer. Additionally, the woods burn cleaner and don't emit smoke. Kiln-dried means the woods are dried in their entirety through the use of thermally insulated ovens. Kiln dried firewood Vermont is very affordable.
