The current members of this league are: the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.
In the past years the league suffered a lot of changes as an example in 1971 the Washington Senators became the Texas Rangers and moved to AL West and the Milwaukee Brewers moved in from the AL West. In 1993 the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers moved to the newly created AL Central division.
In 1978 a game between New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox ended on a tie for the division championship, winning New York.
The same teams ended the 2005 season again tied for the title with the very same records. After the tie game New York wins the season series.
Actually the league as a group has won a significant amount of titles, following a little review of the amount that each team has individually:
?New York Yankees: 15
?Baltimore Orioles: 8
?Boston Red Sox: 5
?Toronto Blue Jays: 5
?Detroit Tigers: 3
?Milwaukee Bewers: 1
Actually, the last title they won was in 2006 by the New York Yankees.
Let's see what the 2007 baseball season brings for the League and if they will have the same luck to obtain another title to add it to their list.
