Hair Colour At Home
Terry Henman
Positive Green
This is the colour of new life, vitality, nature and health. It provides both warmth and coolness. It can be used to denote stability, balance and harmony it is the quintessential colour for freshness.
Negative Green
Green can also evoke negative feelings and is associated with jealousy -'the green eyed monster', envy -'green with envy' and inexperience -greenhorn. It is also used to express sickness ‘green behind the gills'.
Colours to use with green
Team blue and green for creating beautiful oceanic and natural colour schemes which reflect new beginnings.
Use with beige, tan and brown for visual feelings of recycling and organic materials.
Yellow, black or white and green combinations give a sporty feel.
Lime green coordinated with orange provides a bright, zesty and zingy look.
Sage green and deep aubergine shows high contrasts and liveliness.
Uses in interior design
Choose bright and vibrant green to inject fabulous colour into a room. Coordinated with white for a natural light fresh and airy feeling or use an accent piece in a different shade to add cohesion to a room.
One of the latest design styles is to use beautiful bright green in combination with pink in the same hue. This provides a fun and lively look which is perfect for using in any room in your home.
Lavender and sage coloured green provide a relaxing tranquillity in a room which is ideal to use in places of relaxation such as a bedroom or bathroom. Team with white for a dreamy and calming look.
Pastel green and pink colour combinations are great for producing a country cottage feel. Use floral fabrics for cushions or curtains and add touches of duck egg blue or silvery greys for a soft look. Add different fabrics types such as genuine or faux silk and crisp cotton to provide added texture in soft, muted pastel colours.
Regency green and cream striped fabrics provide an elegant look which is perfect for using in dining rooms. Beautiful polished Regency tables and chairs with this fabulous stripe ooze style and elegance. Use Regency green for window dressings to bring the room together effectively.
British Racing Green is another deep green which can provide an elegant and chic look. Coordinated with deep red for a dramatic and gorgeous look. These deep colours work best in large rooms which have an abundance of natural light.
If green is not really a colour you adore, inject the colour by selecting beautiful accent pieces such as cushions in the lounge or a table lamp with a green glass base or shade in a dining room.
Don't be afraid of green! The shades and hues are truly amazing. Take a walk in your garden or local park to see how nature uses green colour combinations for ‘free' inspiration!
