How To Travel Safely

Tips to travel safely
The most dangerous time in your life, when you are most likely to be attacked is when you are traveling in an unknown ad strange area.
Tourists are the favorite target of the thieves of the world for the following reasons:
They are easy to spot. Tourists make the blunder of not blending in, wearing clothes that stand out. They normally wear shorts in a climate where everyone else is wearing pants or brand-new clothes with bright colors. Tourists normally carry a camera around their neck, and a lost look on the face.
Tourists are never armed as it is illegal to carry most weapons on common carriers such as airliners. People with wrong motives are aware of this and so they purposefully go after the tourists.
Tourists also make the mistake of flaunting their wealth. They wear expensive jewelry, and carry large amounts of cash.
When people travel from developed countries such as Japan, the United States or England travel to third world countries they wrongly assume that the country they are visiting has the same overall safety as their own country. Those tourists are often distastefully surprised at how dangerous is the country that they are visiting.
Tourists are also wrongly assumed to be rich. People in most third world countries do not have sufficient funds to travel. So they think that anyone who can travel must be rich. They often want to steal that wealth, and are willing to take any drastic step to take it from the tourists.
So, what is the solution to this problem? Never travel to new areas? No, that would be an unpleasant way to live your life. Travel is fun and thrilling, and no matter what the possible threats are, one should not let a few people spoil your fun.
The key is to prevent trouble by not standing out as a lost, vulnerable tourist.
One should gather information about the area one will be traveling to. The more familiar one is with the new area, the more confident one will be as one strolls down the street. One can use the internet to get maps of the area, and information on the sights one wants to visit. One should find out as much as one can about the culture of the people that one will be visiting. The primary goal is to blend in.
Find out what people by and large wear in the area which you will be visiting. Expectantly you will already have similar clothes. Go with a group if it is feasible.
Being with a group is especially important if it is the first time in the new country. One should not venture out alone unless one is certain that the area one is going to visit is relatively safe.
