The city has 2 major train station, manchester piccadilly & manchester victoria. it's also servedby local and national bus and coach services, many of these services depart from the city's chorlton street bus station.
Manchester rose to prominence during the Industrial Revolution, which is when the city became the world leader in textile manufacture & production. the city is proud of its industrial heritage & some of the mills that were used during this time have been converted into offices and flats.
The city is also renowned for its commerce, science & technology. It boasts three universities & is renowned as the home of the Baby computer, which revolutionised computing.
Although the city still has many amazing Victorian buildings such as the town hall & Central Library, it also has numerous elementary buildings. many of these architecture were constructed after the city was attacked by a terrorist bomb in 1996.
Manchester has many things to do, comprising of occasionally exciting galleries & museums, which are extremely lively to explore.
These include the museum of science and industry, which tells the history of Manchester's rich industrial history. The museum holds touring exhibitions too, & recently hosted the infamous body worlds 4 exhibit. The city's finest art art galleries include the nexus gallery, which boasts some lovely artwork.

Manchester is renowned for its art galleries & it lures many revellers to its numerous clubs, inns & wine bars.
You could have a sophisticated night in one of Manchester's vip wine bars or even a cosy pint of beer in one of the city's quaint inns. Later, you'll find a vast range of clubs to go to, so you can stay out until the early hours.
The city is also a wonderful location for live music fans, because its got numerous venues. These include the Night & Day & the roadhouse, which often by local & touring bands.
