How To Register New Business
Bella Harris
The best way to publicise your new business is to advertise everywhere. You can never do too much marketing for your business. But the important thing is that the advertising you are doing is effective. You must make your advert, whether it is in newspapers or on the radio or in leaflets, stand out from the rest.
When it comes to leaflets you need to capture your reader immediately. This is because with leaflets you usually get about a 4% return which doesn't sound like much but is actually considered quite high in the world of advertising.
Getting your message across in a clear and precise way is the key to getting noticed. Keep your text to a minimum. You don not want to overwhelm people with long paragraphs. The best way to avoid this is by using well placed images.
An image can say a thousand words and is more attractive to people than a huge chunk of text. People are also more likely to remember an image than text unless it's a catchy slogan or heading. The leaflet gives your customers or potential customers a more in depth impression of what it is that you do and is often their first impression of you and your company, therefore it is essential that you take time to give all aspects of the leaflet careful consideration.
It is important to choose a theme that matches your company's image. For example if your logo is red a green leaflet will look awful with it. The colours are not good to use together as the text will be almost impossible to read quickly. The purpose of a leaflet is to high light the best areas of your company and advertise any special offers. What does your business offer that other businesses don't?
Leaflets come in different shapes and sizes. The size of your leaflet depends on how much information you want to get across. If you just want minimal information i.e. a short description of what your company does, logo and contact information then a smaller leaflet it better. For larger amounts of text, and images, a DL folded leaflet is ideal.
To is important to remember that sometimes less is definitely more! There is no need and it is a fundamental error, to simply added blocks of text which serve no real purpose and have nothing to offer your customers.
Once you have written your text to go on your leaflet it is important to proof read it for mistakes or grammar errors, even if you are getting the leaflet printed professionally.
Some print companies will write the copy for you and proof read it but not all of them do so it's best to make sure the leaflet design is exactly what you want before they go to print. The whole leaflet should be checked by you as well. Usually a single proof copy will be created so that you can see what the final leaflet will look like and correct any mistakes if you need to.
