How To Have A Good Relationship
Randy Gardner
Some of our behaviors and actions cause us to grow apart from our partners. Often times, we endeavor to control our significant other or try to take out our own frustrations on them.
Here is a list of things of relationship killing behaviors to avoid:
Shifting blame to your partner instead of acknowledging your misbehavior.
Putting your family into debt by consistently spending more money than you have.
Continuous fault finding.
Using your partner's weaknesses against them.
Infidelity.
Expecting your partner to know instinctively know what is depressing you and becoming angry because they cannot read your mind.
Using silence as a weapon in your relationship.
Refusing to accept an apology and continuously bringing up the subject whenever you want to establish control over your partner.
Telling your partner that you are the only one interested in maintaining the relationship.
Failure to reveal and share your problems and concerns until they reach a critical stage resulting in arguments.
Lack of communication.
Taking it at as a rebuff when your partner wants time to be alone.
Feeling that you do not need to help with household chores.
Neglecting your partner's sexual needs and preferences.
Putting other people, such as friends and work, before your partner.
Denying your own faults while focusing on your partner's faults.
Not showing love or sharing kind words with your partner.
Discounting your partner's ideas and suggestions.
Taking your partner for granted.
Not making time for the relationship.
If you want to maintain your loving relationship with your partner, value and nurture your sweetheart. Never take their love for granted. In order for love to grow, nurture it with kindness, understanding, trust and respect. And most of all, make your partner your very closest friend.
It is only when two people disconnect that the relationship takes a turn for the worst. The best remedy is to first and foremost, treat your partner as your closest, most intimate friend. Make time to share your ups and downs. Set aside time to take romantic weekends together. Find a good babysitter if you have children.
Maintain the romance in your relationship. Make time to be alone. Have a romantic dinner with your favorite wine, champagne, or beer. Enjoy some sensuous movies together and then retire to your bedroom which you would have already converted into a love nest.
Try some romantic games, romantic role playing and even stage a nice strip tease dance for your sweetie.
Or try taking a warm bubble bath together with some romantic movie playing in the background.
These are all ways to prevent ruining a perfectly good relationship and nurturing the one that you have. Lastly, remember to value the relationship you have because if you do not, someone else will.
