Finish Your Degree

In almost all cases these days, pharmaceutical companies will require that you have a college or university degree as a prerequisite. There are a lot of closed doors in the pharmaceutical industry. If you can't get inside from the front door, you need to use the side and back doors. Do your research on the best ways to network in the industry to learn all you can about the field as well as make some contacts.

Standard Cover Letters and Resumes Just Won't Do

You can't use just any standard cover letter and resume formats for pharmaceutical sales jobs. You need documents geared specifically towards sales positions. Simply listing all the different jobs you ever had will not get you that interview.
