How Do I Sell My Business
Allan Scott
But did you know you can sell to a client simply by putting a catchy subject line on your email?
That's it. Nothing more. They don't even have to open the email.
An example? How about this:
‘Never mind platform 9¾ - there's some real magic just over the bridge…'
Why? Because the wine merchants who put out this newsletter happen to be based in a station!
But here's a true story that illustrates the point even more clearly – not from a newsletter owner, but from a newsletter reader…
‘I was checking through my inbox – as I do every morning – and noticed an email from someone I know. I know him well now, because he uses your service to send me a regular monthly newsletter, and I also know he deals with commercial mortgages.
I was a bit pushed for time, so I didn't actually open it – but I thought about him several times on the way to my first meeting.
During the meeting, it became clear that the person I was talking to actually needed a commercial mortgage.
So no prizes for guessing who I recommended…'
Sometimes it's not about the quality of the newsletter – or even what you say.
Sometimes it's just about putting your name in front of a key contact – every month.
Just telling them you're still there, and still value the relationship.
And giving them an eye-catching subject line that'll draw their eye to the sender's name.
Like these, for example:
‘New car? Don't worry – it's complicated.'
‘An investment? Or a way to fulfil your dreams?'
‘Are YOU bovvered?'
‘What to do when the Bank says NO.'
At Newsletter Genie, we specialise in eye-catching subject lines. Not to mention helpful, informative, and eye-catching copy and layout to go with them.
So if you'd like to know more, just get in touch!
