How To Balance Hormones
Amanda Hargreaves
Natural progesterone is a bio-identical hormone produced from yams and soya beans. Bio-identical means that the plant derived progesterone is the same as that produced by the ovaries. It is because it is bio-identical that the human body cannot tell the difference and will use it exactly as it would if it had produced it itself.
Natural progesterone works within the body exactly as progesterone manufactured in the body would, causing few if any side effects. For many years, natural progesterone has been used by women consistently and successfully in hormone replacement.
The progesterone used in HRT is synthetic progesterone known as progestin which is chemically different to the progesterone produced within the body. Since it is made entirely from chemical compounds it can cause the body to produce side effects such as breast tenderness or water retention.
The use of natural progesterone provides women with a means of boosting unacceptably low levels of progesterone in their bodies. Low progesterone levels may allow the hormone estrogen to reach a "dominate" level causing problems such as breast tenderness, water retention, irregular menstrual periods, as well as other, more serious, health issues.
Natural progesterone does not stop the body from producing estrogen but it does allow the balance of the two hormones to be maintained as it did when the body was producing sufficient within itself. It is thought that synthetic progestin may have an effect on the normal function of estrogen.
Natural Progesterone can help with:
shrinking and preventing fibroid growth
improves sleeping
increased libido and sexual desire
alleviation of depression
prevention of water retention and bloating
maintains blood sugar levels
alleviates post partum depression
helps prevent weight gain
facilitates thyroid activity
increasing bone strength
alleviates wooly thinking
Many women are successfully using natural progesterone to restore hormone balance and relieve their symptoms. Natural progesterone is a safe and natural alternative to hormone replacement therapy.
