Antibiotic For Sinus Infections
Amanda Roddy
Are you one who suffers from frequent colds or allergies that never seem to go a way? If so, you may be because of a sinus infection or sinusitis. Cold and allergy symptoms resemble those of a sinus infection. If you suffer from recurring colds and allergies, for long periods of time, see your doctor to ensure it isn't sinusitis. Being sick is no fun and too many colds and allergies weaken the immune system.
Sinus infections cause the mucous membranes to inflame in turn making you sneeze and cough. You will find yourself using an entire box of tissues. Your face may look puffy, particularly around the nose eyes, and cheeks. The pressure of inflamed tissue from allergies may cause headaches, too.
Other symptoms of sinus infections include fatigue ,earache, pain in the upper jaw, fever, and toothache. In more severe cases, you could experience facial pain, tenderness, swollen cheeks and swollen eyes.Sinus infection symptoms are not to be ignored.
When you come down with a cold caused by a virus, you become more susceptible to developing a sinus infection. A sinus infection clogs the mucus membranes weakening the moisturizing and cleansing functions of the mucus and a breeding ground for bacteria is created.
The four main types of sinus infections are: acute sinus, sub-acute, chronic and recurrent. Acute sinus infections last for around a month or less and the sub-acute sinus infection may last up to eight weeks.Chronic cases of sinus infections can last for years and recurrent infections occur in bouts. Sinus infections are typically treated with nasal sprays and antibiotics.
Sinus infection symptoms aren't something to be ignored. Don't try to diagnose yourself. Only a doctor can determine the true cause of your symptoms.
