Antioxidants Fruits And Vegetables
John Hayden
One of the secret desires that many men and women have is to stay and look young forever. And with the help of research and scientific investigations, now it is possible to remain young for a long time. One of the key ways to keep yourself young, healthy and energetic is by getting the benefits of antioxidants. You can find antioxidants in various foods and also consume dietary supplements like Solgar to get the benefits.
In this article we are going to discuss what are antioxidants, how do they benefit us and the rich sources. For this we will divide the article into three parts. Part 1 – what are antioxidants? Antioxidants are nothing but substances that prevent oxidization. This is beneficial to our health because they help preventing oxidization of certain things in our body, which when oxidized can cause harms or simply lead to symptoms of ageing.
Part 2 – How do antioxidants benefit us? Antioxidants prevent some of the diseases of the body. For instance, those who suffer from cholesterol problems are actually suffering because the cholesterols get oxidized and therefore they start clinging to our blood vessels which then blocks them and comes in the way of blood flow. This causes heart related problems. Antioxidants, in such situation, would prevent that and keep a check on cholesterol. Antioxidants also fight the free radicals in the atmosphere around us. This keeps the skin supple and firm, deteriorates degeneration of brain and eyes – some of the common problems we associate with old age.
Part 3 – What are the different sources of antioxidants? Vitamin C, Vitamin E, beta carotene, selenium are the four most studied and researched antioxidants. Food that are rich in these nutrients provide the body the necessary antioxidants to stay healthy. Also you can get your regular dose of antioxidants from dietary supplements such as Solgar.
