Will a building program with this church, with this pastor and at this time truly bring Glory to God? Seemingly, if your church is growing and you are running out of room, the answer could be yes!
Sit down and count the cost of your church's building program. Do you have the leadership, staff, time and money to move forward.
Knowing that the cost must be counted, be aware that time will be taken away from your study, prayer, family and an already busy schedule.
2. What are your motivations for this building program?
No matter if this is a new building, remodeling or a renovation you will need to evaluate the purpose behind your building program and be sure that it's not driven by ego or leadership, but the Spirit.
Davids son, Solomon built a magnificent temple for the Lord, but failed miserably in his spiritual life.
3. Is the building program in the church's mission statement?
The people of your church should know and understand your mission statement. Now you must pray fervently and fast to know the Lords will and clear direction for your building program.
A large building project in Israel did not move forward until Nehemiah fasted and mourned seeking Gods clear direction and will.
4. Is this building program a necessity for our church?
Maybe you think you can't grow without building or your sanctuary is full. There are alternatives, such as, relocating to a gymnasium or having two services instead of one.
Is your classroom space short on room? An alternative could be to move the adult classes to a larger room, freeing up classroom space for other ages.
If you have answered the four questions above and through prayer and fasting the Lord will be glorified through this building program - then continue in confidence in Him.
Now that you are going to proceed, then follow the mandate of scripture and "Let all things be done decently and in order". Allow McNelly Construction to assist and instruct you in what should be an exciting and enriching opportunity in the life of your church.
