How My Wedding Blues Turned Into Wedding Bliss.
Peter James..
This is a Story for anybody who has ever had to plan a wedding reception knows the old adage: Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. And of course it did! I thought everything was taken care of: the invitations were all sent, the R.S.V.P.'s received, the food catered and the reception site reserved when disaster struck!
The caterer didn't have my favorite beverage available. Not only was it my favorite but half the guests expected it also. That is when I began to panic. But then a friend told me about Wedding Bars. The reception was just a couple of days away and I was worried that no one could come to my rescue in such a short time. I quickly ran to the telephone and rang them up. They assured me that not only did they have my favorite available but that they would have it in any quantity that I desired. I also inquired as to whether they could supply a decent amount of a secondary beverage, just in case my guests wanted some variety.
The people at the mobile bar hire said that it was no problem and offered me a rather large selection of beverages to choose from. I made my selections and they assured me that the order would be delivered on time and would be ice cold.
All they required was a small deposit on the kegs and cooler and a table and access to an electrical main. Even with these assurances I was still worried. Would my hiring a wedding bar, on such short notice eventually let me down, would they be on time and have the right beverage in the quantities I needed?
At last the wedding arrived and, needless to say, I had more on my mind than whether or not the wedding bar people would come through. The ceremony was perfect and everyone was in tears at the end.
After we left the church and headed straight for the After Party. When we arrived at the site I was surprised to see that far more people were in attendance than I originally planned for. There was plenty of food and drink, but I knew me and my new husband's friendswould there be enough to drink as they some of them drank like fish's?
Would the wedding bar hold up under the onslaught of thirsty, happy guests? I made my way over to the tables where they had set up and sighed with relief! It was clear that the people at the wedding bar had everything in hand.
What i liked was there were already tapped kegs being poured into waiting glasses, also, there was a very good supply of untapped kegs waiting in the wings.
One of the employees noticed me looking at the untapped kegs and discretely let me know that I would only be charged for the kegs that were tapped. With a sigh of relief I decided to go on and enjoy myself. I was delighted! When I joined the guests I noticed that they had set up two mobile bars at opposite ends of the area, so there were no crowds or long lines for service. The people were professional, kind, and courteous to everyone. After a while they didn't seem like servers but it was like they were part of the guest list.
At the end, after the party finally wound down, the mobile bar was quickly taken down, the cups and glasses cleared away and the cooler was disconnected.
I was very suprised that there was no unsightly mess to remove. It was though they had never been there! But I could tell from the smiles on my guests faces that they, in fact, had been there and everyone had had a marvelous time! If ever you have to reserve beverages for your marriage reception, I suggest going to a wedding bar first, the rest will be a piece of cake (wedding cake that is)!
