Andean Archeology Revisited
Neil Macleod
The remnants of a culture are the only way we can ascertain what has taken place before us. While history, anthropology and archeology are all studies on the past there is also much conjecture surrounding the items found. When you consider Andean Archeology you must consider the legends that surround the findings. One such finding that will be discussed is the Andean Sun Disk. This sun disk is believed to tell of an alien visitation to earth. Whether this is an actual event or just a theory will be your decision to determine. The legend itself is important when you consider the Andean Archeology; for instance if these items did not exist then how could the legend survive? The answer to this is basic an archeologist is trained to look at the remnants of a culture and determine the information from it. In simple words written legends as a means of symbols to be analyzed will show what the pre- existing culture believed. In this re- visitation of Andean Archeology the sun disk will be discussed along with its meanings.
The sun disk contains many different graphics that Andean Archeologists have analyzed. According to Morten St. George the graphics seen on the sun disk had specific meanings. The sun disk is round in formation, such as the sun is round, hence the meaning of the name. The top center graphic is considered to be the alien spacecraft with its oval shape. There is also a depiction of the sun's rays striking the moon. Another aspect of the sun disk when considering Andean archeology is the life forms on the disk. They are considered to be non- human, but instead aliens that live in another universe beyond our existence. Another consideration for the formation of these aliens is the design. In ancient cultures the symbols used to depict the aliens are fish- like.
According to Andean archeology and the legend surrounding the alien it was a fish or aquatic creature. Often when referring to Andean archeology the figures found at the sites are supposed to depict an aquatic alien astronaut. While astronaut may not be a term they used back then it is now being applied to the ancient depictions of the creature.
Another element that should be considered when revisiting the Andean archeology is the location of the Andean culture. The Andean culture is named for the Andes mountain range; therefore the Andean culture was removed from the fishing industry of the early cultures. Now you might think that this culture traveled out of the mountains to find other sustenance or that they perhaps had visitors to bring them the fish that is if you are a cynic as Morten St. George would believe.
The basis for the Andean archeology is not to give you undeniable facts about these legends, but to analyze and create theories for the artifacts that have been found. We can only assume as what the culture believed, knew, and felt by the remnants left behind.
