Not quite. There is a Land Rover vehicle that can be driven on various types of terrain but could also travel through water. How? This vehicle can flat. And it has just recently completed and gone through a journey that took sixty miles on the waters of the Caledonian Canal. This Land Rover vehicle is the Land Rover Defender 90.

The Land Rover Defender 90 is actually an amphibian vehicle. It has been created back in the year 1988 when Land Rover was actually a sponsor to the Cowes week which was a festival of yachts. The vehicle sure has a unique property of being able to tread on both land and water so it has remained in an exhibit in a museum, the Heritage Motor Center, for the past years. This museum is located in Warwickshire in UK. It has only been allowed to travel and show to the world that it can live up to what it has been made for. However, it had to undergo a complete restoration so as to prepare for the whole voyage, which, of course, turned out to be quite a success. The Land Rover mechanical engine parts of the vehicle were kept away from being destroyed by the water through a strong seal. The whole team made sure that the Land Rover Defender 90's engine was waterproof. And to help the whole vehicle float, it had to make use of large buoyancy drums, or else, everybody would have to search for this vehicle underwater. Aside from the engine, the doors were also sealed and were surely sealed tight. After all, the doors of the vehicle were below water level during the whole trip.
