What is the issue with web development these days? It seems as if so many people just do not understand the process. It’s almost like building a house. Every house needs a foundation and the same with any web site. The foundation for web design is that of what I call the site hierarchy but you can not create a site hierarchy until you have your blue print. Same thing applies for building a home or any type of building. You need to know the features, how many bed rooms, how many bathrooms, where’s the front door going to be , how many windows, what are your limitations as to how far you can build form the street or your neighbors house, what are your price limits or your comps who is your competition?
Well since they are so similar you can relate so many things with each other. I am definitely going to say that building a web site is the same thing as building a house from the ground up. The planning is very important as well each limitation you might have, you need to plan ahead for the possible bumps in the road. Even with the marketing if you are building a spec house you could compare this to starting a new online business you both have a new product either a house or a website, but now you need to sell either what’s in it or the product in it’s entirety. You can do this buy establishing who your target market is, set goals and determine what it’s going to take to get in front of the right crowd to make the conversion happen. Once you have established your possibilities set your budgets and so on, its then time to rock and roll start the open house and let the flood gates in. It’s all about planning, where to start, how you are going to get there – you need a road map or you are not going to make it work as near as easy as you could with having one.
