Just in case you might not really know exactly what a water closet is, it is a toilet. There are old fashioned toilets and there are many new models to choose from these days. The toilet is one home fixture that we definitely can not do without. They are such a popular household item that some of us have two or three of them in our home. They serve a necessary purpose and are normally frequented several times a day by each and every family member. This can make them pretty nasty by the end of the week.
It is unfortunate that it is usually the mom in the home who is has to do the toilet cleaning, but not in all cases. Busy working moms are delegating more household chores all the time now to the husband and the children who live there too. This is a great idea if they do the job right, but the toilet is one thing in the home that can be nastier than anything else. It is a great place for germs and bacteria to be spread around along with the tub and sink in the bathroom too.
Whoever gets the distasteful job of cleaning the bathroom will have a much easier time making sure it is at least as clean as it can be when they use a disinfecting product like bleach or another cleaner with chlorine in it. Chlorine not only helps kill off germs and bacteria, it can also reduce the risk of mold development as well. Using a spray disinfectant will not eliminate the need for a good weekly cleaning, but it can be used between cleanings to help prevent germs from spreading from one family member to another as easily
We might not realize just how easy it is to spread germ causing viruses, bacteria, and germs to each other in the home. Anytime one family member brings in germs of a specific kind on hands, coughs, or sneezes, they will spread those germs to other surfaces in the home. When family members touch the toilet they can pick up germs easily. Anywhere else they touch becomes contaminated. Homes can be a revolving circle for germ spreading. This is why it is so common when one family member gets a contagious illness, it is often giver to every one else.
Although the toilet is one of the most important places to keep clean in the home, it is by far from the only one. Kitchen counters are also germy and need cleaning with disinfectant regularly especially after food preparation. Some raw meats like chicken are notorious for spreading illness causing germs like salmonella. It can cause stomach upset and diarrhea from mild to severe. If you let your kids help out with housework, teach them the importance of using disinfectants in certain areas of the home. It might be that they will remember this advice when they move out on their own.
