Water Fountains For Gardens
Oddrun Saeterbo
Help aeration of pond water, keeps high levels of oxygen.
Which in turn prevents stagnation stench of water.
Control growth of algae and aquatic weeds.
Reduces formation of sludge.
Lends beauty to the garden.
Water fountains can also be installed in the water gardens of house yards. In that case floating water plants like water clover, duck weed etc., marginal water plants, those that have their roots in ground and foliage floating on water surface, like cattails, water lilies etc., cannot survive. But submerged water plants like watercress, elodea etc. can survive.
Alternatively, for large ponds, the fountain or waterspout may be arranged at a distance from plant growing zone. As the fountain aerates the pond water well, additional features like stream, water fall etc., were not recommended, unless one wants them too for aesthetics.
Most of the times, the water fountain is integrated into a garden statue. In such a case it may, at many times, take the form of a simple water spout thrusting out of a lion head, a lady's pot, a little boy's pee, etc.,
Sometimes this may take the forms of cascades, a single high spout or complicated patterns of multiple spouts or even musical spouts. But all these forms suit more to ponds in large parks with vast lawns.
Indoor Cascades, if designed well in an integral fashion, could lend an aura of opulence to plush interiors. Gently gurgling indoor cascades, with very subtle lighting can give enhanced dramatism when models of fauna and flora were fitted and audibles of bird and animal cries were played in the background
Fountains in the pools look aesthetic, if the pool edges were finished with ornate mural designs, tiles etc. Good color lighting is an essential component of display aeration type fountains, multiple spouts and cascades.
It's always necessary to take experienced professionals' service for technical design of electrical pump operated fountain system, its night lighting and installation.
