This is important for when you're going out to boat or fish in the daytime: the glare of the sun on the water may temporarily blind you if you aren't able to avoid it, or to turn away from it fast enough. And if there's any part of you that you need to function perfectly on the water, besides your sea-legs, make no mistake: it's your eyes.
