They are available in most electronic shops in home theater systems, radios and CD players. This is because they are easy to assemble and can be set up almost anywhere. This is quite convenient, especially when having garden parties and ceremonies where people will not trip on any wires lying on the ground, having to keep looking out for them.

Most of these wireless speakers are weather proof therefore you can place them outdoors without much worry, but it is not advisable to leave them there for too long in case of heavy rain. Types of Wireless Speakers

There are two types of wireless speakers; infra red and radio frequency. Infra red works with the same technology as a remote control where signals are sent to the speakers. The major disadvantage of infrared wireless speakers is that they usually require a direct sight with the system for them to produce clear sound. This means that any object that may be blocking their path can prevent them from being able to receive the sound. Radio frequency is much better than infrared as its signal can pass through various objects including walls, but has the disadvantage of having static interfering with the quality of the sound.

Whenever purchasing wireless speakers make sure you test their range. This is to ensure that it's suitable for your use. Some may have a very small range that cannot allow you to use them outdoors, therefore limiting your usage. Also test them with different surrounding materials and electronic devices, as this may also contribute to a reduction in sound quality apart from interfering with the range.

Wireless technology is improving as days go by, and new advances in radio transmission are being set up where better transmitters and receptors are being used to decrease the interference. Infrared systems have increased the number of transmitters to help reduce drop outs in sound. Sound quality is expected to get better soon, as the transmitters are being improved to be able to send quality signals. As technology advances, wireless speakers are sure to replace traditional ones.
