So if there is one bit of advice that I can give above all others is to do your research before you commit to anything. Do enough research to make you very confident that the business you are going into is legitimate and you won't be scammed in any way.

When choosing your home based business you need to choose something that suits your existing skills and talents. If you don't then you will probably be going into a business that you won't enjoy. I am a big believer in NOT working in a dead end job that you hate for your whole life, so you want to find something that you are going to enjoy and something that you will be happy doing every day. You have a much greater chance of success if you are enjoying what you are doing and you will also stay motivated knowing that you are happy doing what you do.

The biggest problem many people face when starting out with a home business is that they often expect that it will be easy and that they wont have to do very much work but will still be able to make a lot of money. Unfortunately many online businesses use this as a way of recruiting new people to their business by letting them think they can make money very easily and with very little work.
