Is Injectable Wrinkle Reduction Procedure Safe
Raj Kumar

As more and more people enter the market for effective anti-wrinkle treatments, some radical treatments have become increasingly popular, raising safety concerns. Many people are concerned that injectable wrinkle reduction procedures may not be safe, and may pose health and safety concerns for patients.
The most popular and widely known form of anti-wrinkle treatment that involves injection is Botox. Botox is a form of botulinum toxin, produced by a particular strain of bacteria that is lethal to humans when present in large amounts but in small amounts, causes muscle paralysis. Botox was originally designed to treat patients with severe muscle spasms, by paralyzing the muscles and making them unable to contract. It was discovered, however, that Botox is also effective in reducing wrinkles.
In most people, wrinkles are caused by certain facial expressions such as frowning, which crease the brow. As people age, these facial expressions cause the skin to crease and fold, and as the skin is no longer as elastic as it was previously, the folding slowly becomes permanent. Botox treatments involved injecting minute amounts of the toxin into the facial muscles that cause wrinkles, relaxing them and thus causing the wrinkles to disappear. There are, however, safety concerns surrounding the use of Botox to remove wrinkles.
The first is that Botox, being a toxin, has a high risk of causing allergic reactions in sensitive patients. Many patients who have multiple drug allergies have been found to have a negative reaction to the toxin in Botox, and some have suffered severe allergic reactions. There has even been a case where the death of a patient is thought to have been linked to the use of Botox, in higher concentrations than the recommended maximum dosage. This shows the potential danger inherent in the use of Botox.
Because Botox is administered by doctors and nurses, there is always the chance of human error. If too much Botox is accidentally administered, then the patient may suffer the consequences. Some doctors may also use large amounts of Botox on the assumption that if a little Botox is good, then more must be better. Too much Botox in your system can lead to respiratory difficulties and cardiac arrest as the toxin paralyzes the muscles of the heart and lungs. This can quickly lead to death if left untreated.
Also, the long-term effects of Botox on patients have not been properly studied, as the drug has not been in use long enough for all the long-term effects to become known. It is, however, likely that Botox will have some long-term negative effects as it is based on a toxin that is very dangerous to the human body.
While Botox treatments may be very effective at treating wrinkles, you should not be tempted by instant results and choose instead to use treatments that provide slower, but more long-lasting results and have been proved to be safe for your personal use.
