24 has never been more anticipated by fans as it was coming into this year, its sixth season. The sixth season was hyped up to a remarkable degree, fans were deluged by constant promos on FOX and the footage that we all saw was more than incredible. The end of season 5 set up such a great scenario for the sixth season, with Jack Bauer being captured by the Chinese and held captive for an extended period of time. The beginning of season 6 proved that not only was 24 as good as ever, they could even up the ante further than one could think it possibly could go.

24's fan base is ever increasing as a result of DVDs and constant good word of mouth. I've never met anyone who watched 24 and wasn't subsequently hooked. The show is so addictive and just plain well-done that no one, and I mean no one, is impervious to its charms. The cliffhanger at the end of the fifth season left such a craving from fans that waiting for the sixth season premiere, especially in the last few weeks of the wait, was almost unbearable. How could it not be? 24, with my apologies to Lost, is the only show that leaves an indelible craving for more after each and every episode. It is truly remarkable for a show to do that, especially six seasons into its run.
