Marcy Larsen
As new parents you are sleep-deprived, exhausted and just so busy changing diapers and washing bottles that the last thing on your mind would be to start your new childs scrapbook. Remember that time does fly and even though it doesn't seem like it when you are up for a 3AM feeding. Your baby will grow up so fast that you wish you had preserved those priceless memories.
Here is how you can start baby scrapbooking in just 8 easy steps:
1.Join a baby scrapbooking class or club.

If you know that gender of your child, start to purchase products that will color coordinate. You can purchase paper and accents before the baby arrives to make it easier to put your pages together. There are online stores that actually sell full kits that are geared to the gender of your child. You can purchase these and have them delivered right to your door.
4.Sort as you take pictures
Purchase a cheep album that you can sort and keep pictures in until you are ready to add to your scrapbook. You can organize by season, month or what ever works for you. This way, they are at your finger tips and ready as you start.
5.Keep a journal handy
Keep a journal handy at all time. This way you can remember why this moment was so special. When you get your pictures back, right a few things down that you remember on the back of them. When you are putting the pages together, you will be able to get all the details you want on your pages without forgetting the little details.
6. Look for shortcuts
Again, remember that there are several online sites and store that sell ready-made scrapbooking kits. All you need is a few pictures and embellishments to make a wonderful layout that you can call your own.
7. Carve out time
Whether you classify baby scrapbooking as your personal time or as an investment in preserving your family memories, do not feel guilty about it. You will be happy with having those special moments captured and preserved!
8. Put it all together
You have all your supplies, pictures and your journaling. Now experiment and have fun. Remember, the cutting, pasting and layout does not have to be perfect - because your memories are.
