This is not isolated to Russian women. A recent survey showed that the number one consideration American women are looking for in marriage is a man's income. Similar studies in Britain have yielded the same results. So much for warm, fuzzy, romantic ideals!
Personally, I don't think that this is as horrible as it sounds. A woman wants to make sure that she and her offspring are secure and well taken care of. This is as much an unconscious instinct as a conscious desire.
When it comes to economic and emotional security, all women want the same thing.
