Many studies have already proven that most people today have horrible eating habits. Even those people who believe they are living a healthy and attractive lifestyle would probably be surprised to learn that their eating habits need some improvement. It's possible they've managed to come so far and remain slim and attractive because they work out vigorously at the gym everyday to compensate for the sugary sodas, fast food and candy, but someday all that eating will catch up with them, which is why if this might be you it is time to make a change. The following are some steps people can take towards healthier eating habits.
Step to Eating Healthier #1 Eat Several Small Meals
Your mother had it all wrong when she fed three square meals per day. What she should have been doing is feeding you five or six small ones. Ideally your daily eating schedule should look like this.
Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
Snack (if needed)
These meal times should be spaced two to three hours apart so that your metabolism doesn't become overworked and so that it also doesn't get a chance to slow down.
Step to Eating Healthier #2 Drink More Water
The human body doesn't need soda, alcohol, apple juice, or orange juice to survive. These are drinks designed to be appealing to the taste buds, nothing more. You should make it a point to drink at least six to eight large glasses of water per day. It will help cleanse the body of impurities and helps burn fat when you exercise.
Step to Eating Healthier #3 Avoid Processed Foods
Processed foods are generally those you find on the frozen food aisle of the grocery store. In order to keep them from spoiling quickly they are packed full of additives and preservatives which increase the calorie and carbohydrate content and which in turn makes them very unhealthy to eat because they are very nutrient deficient.
Step to Eating Healthier #4 Plan Your Meals a Week in Advance
It's a proven fact that if you plan all of your meals ahead of time, the temptation to deviate from your diet and eat unhealthy foods will be less of a problem. Being focused on what you need to eat each day lowers the chances of your mind wandering towards unhealthier food choices by keeping the food you plan to eat already at hand, rather than you having to drive to the store and then becoming distracted by a burger stand on your way there.
Eating healthy is more than just a diet. It is a way of life. It is a commitment you have to make and then stick to in order to receive the full benefits from the sacrifices you make. If you can hold strong and follow the steps above, you will be well on your way to a lifetime of healthiness and attractiveness.
