It was in the summer of 1999 that a lineage advert in the business opportunities part of the sunday times attracted my attention. "Earn five thousand pounds or more per month trading the forex markets". At the time I was really cheesed off with my permanent employment in the telco world and I was looking for a change.

Ideally I wanted a business that paid more but gave me the flexibility to do my own thing. The currency advetisement was interesting, so I gave the guy a ring. He talked for over 30 minutes spelling out the advantages of speculating in forex and was prepared to offer me a 2 day seminar that would have me trading professionally in no time. The course cost ?8k but he could help me get a careerdevelopment loan that would pay the fees and I would not have to start paying back until well after the course had finished.

Little did I know that I had just entered the conman infested waters of the financial investment seminars, courses and signal services.

8 years later, after spending many thousands on courses, ebooks, seminars, books, signal services I have tried a lot of what is out there and believe me 95% is utter bullshit!

One thing noone tells you is that psychology is the most important part of trading and to develop that psychology from scratch can take anything from two to eight years or more! And that the majority, not all, but the majority of these gurus who write books, sell courses and signals do not trade themsleves! Because if they did they would blow their accounts!

So canan income be made from forex trading? You bet it can!!

Being a small trader has many advantages over normal employment:-

No premises required - trade from your bedroom

Trade from anywhere - all you need is the internet.

No fixed times - work when you want, if you want

No employees - no need to pay anyone

Little invesment - Apart from your learning costs!!!

Small ongoing costs - normally just internet and datafeed

Large income - yes an income as large as made by top executines is possible!

I better mention that the learning curve can be hard and full of emotional highs and lows, not to mention the occasional blowing up of your trading account.

I have travelled the road as have countless others and have experienced everything, form crooked brokers to crooked experts and systems.

For a number of years now I have owned a website called www.trading-for-a-living.com that brings to peoples attention things that are working for me. That doesn't necessarily mean they will work for you too, however, if they work for me they will work for the majority of people out there.

Growing older day by day has made me less of a go getter and more inclined to want to lie on the beach, so my search for the last couple of years has been looking for trading systems that require very little mental effort and time. I'm happy to say that I have found them and will shortly be submitting an article on autotrade sytems.
