The "How To" For A Perfect Pedicure
Lisa H.
Find your nearest spa/salon quick! Just kidding, but this is the fastest and easiest way. It's also the most expensive.
1. REALLY! First step, you must soak your feet for a good 5 minutes in warm soapy water. I usually use a mosturizing body wash to soak mine in. Also, because I'm a bit lazy and don't like cleaning up a bucket of water, I sit on the counter in my kitchen and soak them in my kitchen sink...it's the perfect size.
2. Trim up and shape your nails. Your toenails shouldn't be too long or short. Find something that is comfortable for you. Shape them either in a square shape or rounded.
3. Back in the water for a couple of minutes, then apply cuticle remover and leave on for a minute or so. Using an orange stick push back those unsightly cuticles. You could also use cuticle trimmers, but if you keep up with your pedicures, you shouldn't have to use the trimmers every time. Avon has a great cuticle remover gel..and it's really inexpensive!
4. Time to scrub! Scrub those feet using a foot file or wet pumice stone. Get rid of all the dead skin on the balls and heels of your feet. I bought a foot file from The Body Shop and absolutly love it! In a pinch, you could also use a foot scrub. L'Occitane Shea Butter Exfoliating Foot Scrub is a must have for this. It's a bit more expensive, but well worth it!
5. Dry your feet and moisturize! Use a foot moisturizer. I like Avon's line of FootWorks. They have a ton of different moisturizers for all types of feet. Also, drop a bit of cuticle oil on your cuticles.
