Urinary Infection (UTI) is a bacterial infection that affects a portion of the urinary tract. Urinary Infections affectts million people each year. The urinary tract infections are the second most common type of infection in the body. Women are more at risk of developing a UTI. Women are more prone to UTIs than males because in females, the urethra is much shorter and closer to the anus than in males. The elderly and people with diabetes also get more ITU. Other steps that women can take upon itself to avoid infection include drinking plenty of water every day, taking showers instead of baths, cleaning the genital area before intercourse, avoid using products feminine hygiene sprays and scented showers.
