Training To Jump Higher

Whether you're a basketball, soccer, or hockey player, your ability to jump high can definitely put you on the top of your league. It is an established fact that jumping higher is not very easy to do. But it will happen ? if you invest time and patience in it. If you feel you need a boost with your vertical height, here are two basic trainings on how to jump higher:
1) Strength Training
In order for you to jump higher, you need to undergo strength training. This is very important as this will make your leg muscles stronger and your body more physically fit. Strong leg muscles makes for a great vertical take-off. However, you will get more height if you combing strength training with power training. There are a lot of exercise regimens that can further strengthen your legs. This includes lunges with or without weights, and squats. You can also perform leg presses at two times a week.
2) Power Training
Another important training on how to jump higher is power training. Doing strength or power training alone is useless. There are a number of power training exercises that will boost your jump height. You need not have an expensive gym membership, or buy pricey fitness equipment. You can simply get a box and jump over it for a couple of times. You can also run up and down a flight of stairs to further strengthen your legs. An ideal training ground is the stadium. Use the stadium stairs as they large spaces between them that will make you work harder to just run up. This makes for a good exercise set for your legs.
Other ways for you to jump higher:
?Sounds clich? but by practicing jumping, you can increase your vertical height!
?If you can hit the gym, work on fortifying your leg muscles. Do squats, lunges, and leg presses. You can do squats with or without weights. Gradually add weight as you progress with the program. This will make your leg muscles and calf muscles stronger and leaner. After all, the key to doubling your jump height is having strong leg muscles.
?Think that jump roping is for kids? Think again. This exercise is a great way for you to develop your jump prowess. Skip rope for about 20 minutes a day. Not only is this a jump booster, it's a fun exercise as well.
