Tropical Coral Reef Fish
Frank Froggatt
Hermit Crabs Hermit crabs? you might say. Yes Hermit crabs, they are like natures janitors in the tropical reef, keeping the water and coral clean for you. Lobsters do this as well. You'll make a wise decision if you add one of these.
When searching for the right hermit crabs don't just go down to the beach and find one. You must make sure that your Hermit crab is compatible with your tropical reef coral and fish.
Here are a few different kinds that are common and well suited to tropical reef aquariums. They are the halloween hermit, the dwarf red tip hermit and the electric orange hermit crab. Check em out.
Lawnmower Blenny A Mower For Your Algae
There is nothing the Lawnmower Blenny likes better then to eat the string and hair algae growing in your aquarium.
Beautiful Golden Tonga Blennys
The golden scales of the Golden Tonga Blenny appeal to fish lovers all over the world. The Golden Tonga Blenny is an herbivore that likes to graze on the rocks at the bottom of your aquarium.
While they enjoy dining on spirulina and marine algae, you will want to feed your Golden Tonga Blenny dry seaweed and live micro algae, for they do very well with these.
Red Sea Mimic Blenny
Suitable for any tropical reef aquarium is the Red Sea Mimic Blenny. He is a beautiful addition and is an herbivore. He is only a touch over 4 inches long and is brilliantly colored.
Contrary to the name the Red Sea Mimic Blenny is not a red fish the name comes from where the fish originates, the Red Sea. The Red Sea Mimic Blenny is a stunning shade of electric blue with a few streaks of pale yellow that runs the length of its spine.
You must have a tank of at the very minimum 30 gallons for this fish. You will totally enjoy his company in that he always wears a happy expression, bringing a smile to any face that behold him.
