While Andrew Borrok is known largely for his real estate achievements, as well as his culinary skills and ability to throw a great party, he is also an accomplished legal professional. With a J.D. from Georgetown Law, M.B.A from Columbia Business School and B.A. in Political Science from Columbia College, he can choose to work in business or in law. Mr. Borrok has not found it necessary to choose between business and law, though. He has opted to work in both fields as he sees fit.
Andrew Borrok's legal achievements include serving as General Counsel to a Manhattan real estate company, Counsel at Arent Fox and a volunteer Assistant District Attorney in Kings County. Most of the legal achievements that Mr. Borrok has made also tap into his business and real estate knowledge, though. Serving as General Counsel to the 425 Park Avenue Company is a fine example of this. He supervised reconstruction of the office building's electrical system following a major electrical fire, and supervised the insurance claims, rent abatement claims and construction agreements in connection with the same fire. He also managed relationships with the ground lessor and major tenants in the building, including Kaye Scholer and Citibank, and arranged a defense and settlement for an 86 million asbestos lawsuit.
Volunteering as the district attorney of an entire county is nothing new for Andrew Borrok, as he has a long history of volunteer work. He has also served on the board of directors of a number of prominent organizations, including the 34th Street Partnership and City Meals on Wheels, where he continues to serve and volunteer. The City Meals on Wheels organization is particularly close to Mr. Borrok's heart. He even sponsored a program for donors to send e-cards with a donation in honor of someone special for Mother's Day.
Anyone who wants to traverse the gap between real estate and law in their professional life should look to Andrew Borrok. He has found success in both fields.
