I've always been a patient person. I realize everything takes time at first with the learning curve and all. I was going to have a firm grip on being a home business owner. Say good bye to a pain in the rear boss, and create my own wealth. I was going to do this no matter what!
I came across a networking opportunity that had a lot of bling, and I was sucked into a divine world I didn't know anything about. For the next year I was chasing after something I felt I could never reach out and grab hold of and gain full control to make my own.
4 months, 8 months, almost a year without any real progress. Every opportunity to get opt in traffic to the millions of opportunity seekers that come my way, I was on board. But that was the problem, I was I the same boat as them looking for a magic lamp of some sort.
My business was in my opinion at least in the top ten. But my thoughts of success and prospering were getting foggy. As great as this industry is, my business was flat lining. I figured I wasn't catching on to the skills or something, and maybe I needed to work harder and longer to sponsor and make sales.
Then I stumbled across some information in a ezine I wish I had found months earlier, that went something like this. "If you sell someone on getting started and buying into your opportunity through persuasive techniques that pump them up emotionally, than yes you possibly will recruit a lot of people and make sales.
But once that emotional state wears off, whether it's a week or months later, the buyer will experience remorse. These people quit and go back to their lives, and unfortunately this is what happens most of the time in this home business arena". And this is what was happening to me.
I was thrown off by this article because it went on to say, "Within the sponsoring process, the goal is not to sell our prospects on a product or opportunity". That sounds completely backwards and counter productive doesn't it? After all, what's the point if you're not there to make a sale right?
Then it started to sink in. When it comes to this industry there's a problem, especially offering an opportunity, selling them your business. There's a lot of interest in the sale, focusing on scripts and reading lines for new distributors, and it's awkward.
Were going head to head with objections, trying to close the deal. Peoples natural instincts are that of not being sold, it's like were fighting a ton of little battles. Prospects have no trust, and are afraid of getting ripped off. That was a good day for me. I found a better way for the customer, the possible new distributor. Including yours truly.
Home business entrepreneurs should put this into action as soon as possible, in my opinion. I can't say enough about this. With so much room in this industry to make money, and yet so many give up because their failing.
