Christi was reserved and quiet, while Kale like attention and crowds. They were both very good at their jobs and enjoyed a promising future at the company. There was one problem.
Although they did not know it they were both dating the same guy. His name was Scott and he was a rising young Vice President at the company. Scott had a reputation as a ladies man.
He had romantic encounters with most of the single women in the firm. He usually secretly dated several women at one time. Once it became known he would simply leave them heartbroken and move on to other women.
Several women had left the firm because of him. Christi and Kale went on about their lives, and was non the wiser. They worked in completely different parts of the building so it was rare that their professional lives crossed.
One day there was a bomb threat in the building where they worked. The president called for the building to be evacuated. The plan was for everyone to meet in the huge park adjacent to the building.
The employees orderly evacuated the building and awaited emergency crews. Christi and Kale happen to meet each other in the park. They started talking. They were telling each other about the cool guys they had met at work.
At that moment Christi and Kale both looked forward in the crowd. Christi said Im going to move forward I think I see my boyfriend. Kale said I see mine too, got to go I will introduce him to you later.
They both started moving forward. As they got closer they both called Scott. Scott looked up and they looked at each other. They approached each other and Christi said why are you calling my boyfriend?
Kale said why is you calling mine? At that moment they knew they were dating the same guy. Christi was willing to just let it go and started walking away.
Kale said do not walk away from me. She grabbed Christis arm and pushed her to the ground. She started choking her. Christi struggled to get free. The crowd saw what was happening and came over to stop it.
They finally pulled Christi off of Kale. Their friendship was no more. Christi and Kale left the firm and never spoke again. Being tired of all the trouble Scott was causing, the president transferred him to an undisclosed location.
It was later confirmed that he despised his new assignment and decided to leave the company. While you may be willing to let an incident go, others may not. They may try to cause you physical harm. When things get out of control you must quickly gather your senses.
Never turn your back and walk away from someone with whom you have had an altercation. If you have to leave, back away or run to safety. You should always be prepared to defend yourself if necessary.
