India is a country which is inflicted by a number of social milieus, in spite of the fact that it is making a mark for itself in a number of fields. There are even predictions that dub India as an emerging super power in the coming years. The irony is that in India certain things still prevail that have been eradicated long back in the real super powers of the world. If India remains incapable of tackling and minimizing the problems from the grassroot level, then the super power status of India, if at all it manages to achieve the feat, would be nothing but a sham. A mere superficiality.

Though one cannot single out the country in case of addictions, still in India most of the times it is seen that the poor and the illiterate are the victims of addictions. These are the people who are quite far from the reach of any medical help or awareness. Not only India the scenario is almost similar in all the developing or under developed countries of the world. In the developed countries because of a limited population and because of the impressive literacy rate, the illnesses that are the effect of addictions can be treated. These countries are also capable of spending on the cure of such diseases. However, sadly enough this is not the case with the countries like India. Thus the percentage of deaths as a result of addictions is also higher in these countries.

Smoking is an addiction that is widespread in an unprecedented way in India. Sadly enough the death rate is also considerably high among this section of the society. Addictions also contribute handsomely to this high rate.

Popyps signifies a growth in the mucous membrane that is often abnormal. Popyps most particularly occur in the nasal passages, rectum, uterus, bladder etc. The ones that occur in the colon may or may not be cancerous. However, these popyps have the chances of transforming themselves into cancer in case of both the former as well as the current smokers. The rate is considerably higher in case of those who have not yet given up on the habit.

In the poorer sections of the society there must be so many such people who must have died young due to their habit of smoking without even realizing the cause of their death. Even the anti smoking drugs like Chantix, and are not accessible to these people. It is to be thought whether drugs like really a boon to the society as they are made out to be. Majority of the people are unaware of the fact that such quit smoking drugs even exists. The drug is made available online so that people can easily buy chantix. But in the poor nations how many people have access to the net? The budget factor is a different issue altogether.
