Liposuction -- Who Is It For?
IC
Most people relate the process of liposuction to some sort of weight-loss technique however, this is a common misconception. Liposuction is not a technique which is used in order to lose weight, on the contrary it shouldn't be used for this purpose at all, instead this procedure is meant to sculpt a persons body contour by removing the excess fat in problem areas.
Problem areas are parts of the body of a person who is somewhat obese, getting rid of this excess fat can prove to be nearly impossible but with the help of liposuction to this goal is easily achievable. The process of liposuction is done using a cannula which sucks the subcutaneous fat from problem areas, the cannula is inserted through small indentations in the skin and it makes tiny tunnels through the fat.
The best candidates for liposuction are those patients who are in overall good health and want to reshape their bodies, people who have kept a steady weight are also the best candidates for this procedure, people who are morbidly obese and tend to gain a lot of weight due to eating disorders are not recommended to have a liposuction procedure done because the weight lost will easily be regained, it is important to remember that liposuction is all about reshaping the body and not about losing weight.
The results achieved by liposuction can be a permanent if the person sticks to a healthy diet and maintains a healthy workout routine if in the other hand the person changes his or her diet by increasing the amount of calories, fats and carbs consumed in the procedure would have had no effect at all because all the fat lost will be regained.
Another common misconception is that liposuction will eliminate cellulite, this is a fact wrong, while the procedure will definitely suck out some of the fat which is causing the dimpled skin it in no way will eliminate the problem of cellulite, nor it is the purpose of the procedure.
The average amount of fat which is extracted from a person's body varies according to their condition however, extracting more than 8 pounds in a single day can result dangerous, it is very common to extract one to 2 pounds of body fat from a persons waist area, this will dramatically change their silhouette and reach the results they have been looking for and expected from the procedure, and in the end this is what a successful liposuction really is.
