Basic Methods For Rehabilitating Smokers

People just love accessories. From little boys and girls, to teenagers and adults; we just can't live without them. We always have those bangles, dangling earrings, bling-blings, chains, huge diamond rings, studs, body piercing, and the grillz in our everyday clothing. However, teenagers especially have this thin and tiny extra accessory they carry between their middle and index fingers. This is their cigarette sticks, or as they call it - smoke.
Smoking has been a favorite past time of teenagers and other age groups. Unfortunately, even those below ten years old can be seen with smoke puffing out of their mouths and noses. Do you see the world today? You won't see a world of color anymore. Instead, you will see a monochromatic place of black and white and a scheme of fire out from the cigarettes.
Luckily, some people have finally awakened to reality. Professionals and other concerned citizens have been opening institutions and schools with programs that would help chain smokers and smoke addicts discipline themselves. They rehabilitate these smokers to gradually stop their bad habits. This recuperation will not only save the addicts but also save our nature from getting buried by pollution. "Stop smoking" programs help those people who just started to be smokers to those who are already dreaded by this vice.
There are some basic methods to initiate rehabilitation for smokers, and here they are:
Group Lessons
Group lessons are found to be very effective for several smokers. In group sessions, they are able to interact with other people to whom they share something in common with. Opening up to a group will be beneficial because the more people who will listen to you, the more people will offer support and advice. In every group, there is a facilitator who leads the session. This facilitator may be a psychologist by profession, a teacher, a concerned citizen, or a rehabilitated chain smoker whose life is back to normal after the program. They meet twice or thrice a week and they also contact each other through phones, mails, and e-mails for follow-ups.
Grab a Partner
It is true that activities become easier when you have a companion. The burden will lessen and the time duration will minimize. There are times when they feel very depressed and they must resort to smoking to relieve themselves. Thus, if the smoker feels that there are times like these, they must subject to having a partner. This way, their partners can help and call them up right away. They don't have to wait for the schedule of group sessions.
Solo Flight
You can always save yourself if you are very determined and passionate. The only thing needed for this is the power of the mind. Control the urge to smoke with your mind. When it comes to the point that you want to smoke your cigarette, play the disadvantages of this vice and think of its consequences. Always restrain yourself from temptation.
