A waterbed air mattress can be a good replacement for an old waterbed mattress, or just a new choice for your bed. These air mattresses are specifically designed to be able to fit into water bed frames, making it very convenient to change your mattress from a water-filled one to an air-filled one. In particular, these air mattresses are sized to fit snugly into a hard side waterbed's wooden frame.

Your waterbed can be rendered unusable in many ways. Ordinary wear and tear as you use it over the years can eventually cause defects in the mattress. Heaters have been known to malfunction and burn holes through mattress bladders.

An air mattress, then, can be a good mattress replacement. For one thing, they do not need to be heated, so you will save on heating costs and the cost of a heater. They are also much lighter than waterbeds ? they are filled with air, after all, instead of denser water. This means that they can be used even on higher floors, and can be easily transported, even when filled with air.

However it may be more convenient to drain the air mattress of air before moving it. Filling and draining an air mattress usually can be done in minutes, instead of the hours that water filled mattress may take, so it is not that much of a chore anymore. We can see therefore that setting up an air bed is much easier than setting up a water bed mattress.

Air beds are also much more stable than older free flow mattresses. Wave motion is almost nonexistent in air mattresses, as they are usually baffled (separated into chambers), and air exhibits much less significant rippling behavior than water.

Simply remove your old mattress and position your new air mattress, which will fit exactly into your old water bed frame.
