A Family Tree For Free
Jemarwright
In the United States, finishing a family tree takes time and effort and eventually you may not end up with all the information that is required. The reason why it is difficult to find all the information is because these records are the responsibility of the county and sometimes the responsibility lies at as low a level as the parish. Another reason is the lack of a central repository. Since there are no central records available for you to check the details, and it is too much of an effort to go to all the offices yourself, you will have to depend upon the local records offices to assist you in finding the records for you and these copies cost money.
You must first understand that conducting research for the family tree has various expenses involved, such as the ability to buy the related certificates, which are usually expensive. Government agencies and record holders may take around $15 to $30 for one certificate, depending on the type of certification and where you are purchasing them from. These prices can change at any time as these are fixed at the county and state level.
Since the birth certificates, marriage certificates and the death certificates were available for a long time in the U.S., from around the 19th century, it requires a lot of research to lay your hands on the older ones. Prior to that, there was no requirement to store such records as at that time, people did not think it was important to store these records.
Apart from all this, the privacy law comes into force too and unless you can substantiate the fact that you are retrieving these records for a family tree, you stand a good chance of being turned down.
You have to decide if you wish to take the difficult route or willing to spend some money and get them from an online paid source.
