During pregnancy most mothers want to have a normal delivery. However, when the pregnancy problems and complications arise during the labor, cesarean is better option. The cesarean is either planned or unplanned of both the wife and husband. It is suggested to be performed when the doctor know that it is unsafe, or impossible for a baby to be deliver normally through its mother's birth canal.

Cesarean is the kind of delivery of a fetus by surgical incision through the abdominal wall and uterus. It is done when mother or baby's life is in danger. During the delivery some other women need to have a cesarean section if the cord comes down before the baby, women may chose to had a epidural or spinal anesthesia for labor.

Women is advise to have cesarean too if she has sexually transmitted infections such as genital herpes that can be passed to her baby if she has a normal delivery. It is also good to have a cesarean if the baby is too big to be deliver normally.

Emergency cesarean is advised if it is a matter of minutes to save the life of both mother and the baby. General anesthesia is used in the combination with a vertical incision and your partner is generally allowed to accompany you.

Moreover, the cesarean section is a major surgery it involves risks like infection, increase of blood loss and blood clotting. Cesarean can also cause fetal injury during the surgery, sometimes the physician can accidentally nick the baby while doing the incision cut. Mothers have different reaction to anesthesia, it maybe lead into pneumonia and high blood pressure.

Although the procedure is much safer today compare it to decade years ago. The procedure was improved to secure the safety for both the mother and the baby.

Women who have undergo cesarean section will stay longer at hospital for recovery. It took almost six weeks or longer before a mother can recover. However, mothers have different recovery it depends on the age and general health of a woman. So mothers should wait for the advise of the doctor of what kind of activities you should do that cannot harm you.
